Biography
I moved to New Orleans in the summer of 2000 with my husband. I am originally from Vermont and slowly moved south.
Our first daughter, Adelaide, was born in August of 2005 at Memorial Medical Center. Because of her birth and a certain federal flood that occurred less than two weeks later, my life has changed drastically since. Our second daughter, Marguerite, was born in September of 2007 at Touro. Thankfully, her birth was not followed by a mandatory evacuation.
We are still in the same house as we were pre-Katrina in the Carrollton neighborhood. We received no flooding which propelled me into denial about the state of things for quite some time.
I continue to call New Orleans "home" although my friends and relatives insist that I am crazy.
